AI chatbot for your small business website: it answers, qualifies and books while you sleep

An AI assistant answers your website visitors from your own content, in their language. It qualifies the request, offers an appointment, creates the lead in your CRM and hands over to your team when it should.

  • Always says it’s an AI
  • Answers from your content
  • A person, one click away

AI chatbots and AI-powered websites: what are they?

A traditional website waits: visitors hunt for the right page, fill in a form, then wait. A question asked in the evening or at the weekend waits until the next day, and the prospect has time to look elsewhere.

An AI chatbot, or virtual assistant, replies straight away on your website, in the visitor’s language. It isn’t a generic bot pulling answers from the internet: it only answers from your approved content (pages, prices, FAQ, terms) and cites its source. If it can’t find anything reliable, it says so and offers to pass the question on to your team.

An AI-powered website goes further: it qualifies the request, offers free slots from your calendar, creates the lead in your CRM and triggers what comes next (a confirmation, a follow-up, a task for a colleague). By default, your team confirms bookings and approves emails sent in your name.

The assistant says it’s an AI, because people have a right to know when they are dealing with a machine. It tailors its answers to the page being viewed and to what the visitor tells it, without ad tracking, and we build it with Swiss data protection (FADP) in mind.

The problem

Where your website lets clients slip away

Questions left unanswered at night

Prices, opening hours, availability: visitors ask when it suits them, often when your office is closed.

A form, then silence

The request sits in an inbox, then waits to be copied into the CRM. The prospect waits too.

A website that speaks one language

Your visitors write in French, German, English or Italian. Translating everything takes time.

Everything runs in your browser: nothing is sent or stored. Simplified demo: answers are prepared in advance or computed by simple rules in your browser. In production, a language model suited to your data does this work, and someone on your team signs off.

I want this for my business

    What’s happening, step by step

    1. A visitor asks a question Input

On your website, at 10 pm or on a Sunday, in their own language. No hunting for the right page, no form to fill in.

    2. The AI understands AI

It recognises the language and what the person wants (a price, opening hours, an appointment) and picks out the useful details.

    3. It answers, with its source AI

The answer comes from your approved content (pages, prices, FAQ) and names the page. If it can’t find it, it says so.

    4. It qualifies the request AI

Like a good adviser, it asks two or three questions: the need, the timing, how to get back in touch.

    5. Appointment and CRM Tool

It offers free slots from your calendar and creates the lead in your CRM, with a summary.

    6. Your team takes over Human

You confirm the booking, or take over the chat when the visitor asks or the topic is sensitive.

Run the demo: each step lights up here.

    Words to know

    AI chatbot
An assistant that chats in writing on your website using a language model, and can act: book, create a lead, hand over.
    Knowledge base
Your approved content (pages, prices, FAQ, terms). The assistant looks for answers there, not on the internet.
    RAG
Retrieval-augmented generation: the AI first finds the right passage in your content, then writes its answer from that passage.
    Lead
An interested person, with their need and contact details, ready to be followed up.

    Why it’s safe

    • The assistant answers only from pages you have approved, and cites its source.
    • It says it is an AI assistant and hands over to a person when it doesn’t know.
    • Bookings and new leads follow your rules, in code.
    • You choose where the AI and your data run.

    The agent’s pipeline

    1. Input Chat widget A few lines of code on your website. Context: the page being viewed and the browser language, with no ad cookies.
    2. AI Understanding Language, intent and useful details (need, timing, contact) extracted as schema-validated JSON.
    3. Code Search Hybrid search (keywords + vectors) over your approved content. Below the relevance threshold: no answer, handover offered.
    4. AI Sourced answer Written in the visitor’s language, only from the passages found, with a link to the source page.
    5. Tool Calendar and CRM Limited, logged tools: free slots, lead creation through the CRM’s API, confirmation draft.
    6. Human Team Handover with a summary by email, Teams or Slack. The team confirms bookings and takes over sensitive cases.

AI reads and writes. Code checks. Humans decide.

    • Transparency: the assistant introduces itself as an AI in its first message, and confirms it whenever asked.
    • Sourced answers: it relies only on your approved content; below the relevance threshold, it says it doesn’t know and offers a person.
    • Sensitive topics (health, disputes, complaints): no advice, handover to your team.
    • Hidden instructions (prompt injection): the assistant can only use the tools it is allowed (slots, lead), never your email or client files.
    • Minimal data: no advertising profile, no newsletter sign-up without consent, conversations deleted after the period you set.

    Our commitments

A transparent assistant, under your control

    It says it’s an AI

From its first message. According to the FDPIC, people have a right to know whether they are dealing with a machine.

You choose where your data is processed

Leading models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral…) or, for sensitive data, open-source models such as Apertus, the open Swiss language model built by EPFL, ETH Zurich and CSCS, hosted in Switzerland or on your own infrastructure.

Built with Swiss data protection (FADP) in mind

A data processing agreement, only the data the task needs, Swiss hosting available.

    Frequently asked questions

Does the chatbot say it’s an AI?

Yes, always. It introduces itself as an AI assistant in its first message and confirms it whenever asked. According to the FDPIC, people have a right to know whether they are dealing with a machine; the EU AI Act also provides for this transparency (Art. 50) if you have clients in the EU. See our guide to Swiss AI law.

Where do the chatbot’s answers come from?

From your approved content, and nothing else. The assistant finds the right passage in your pages, prices and FAQ, answers from it and cites its source. Otherwise, it says it doesn’t know.

What happens when a visitor wants to talk to someone?

The conversation goes to your team in one click, with its summary. During opening hours, a colleague takes over the chat; otherwise, the request arrives by email, Teams or Slack.

Do we need a new website to add a chatbot?

No. The assistant can be added to most existing websites (WordPress, Wix, Webflow or custom-built) with a few lines of code. If your website needs rebuilding, we build it with the assistant included.

Is a website chatbot compatible with Swiss data protection law?

It can be, if it’s designed properly. We build it with Swiss data protection (FADP) in mind: a data processing agreement, only the data needed, Swiss hosting available, no ad tracking. We also help you update your privacy notice.

How much does an AI chatbot for a small business website cost?

On quote: the price depends on your content, the languages and the tools to connect. The audit is free, then you get a clear quote. Request a quote.

    NotHuman

How many visitors leave without an answer while you’re closed?

In a free 30-minute audit, we look at what an AI assistant could take off your hands on your website.
